As you probably know, I (just like all bloggers) receive requests to review products, services, and websites from time-to-time. I say “no” to most of them because I try to stick to those that are related to living happily single and that I think my readers will appreciate. So I said “no” to a request to review a dating site that “allows” swinging/group sex, hook-ups with married people, and other somewhat risky liaisons. I actually don’t know whether some of my readers might appreciate a review of this site but I decided to stay away because of my own sensibilities. Plus, I thought it would bring a kinky element who are looking for more of the same to my site and I just don’t feel like having to moderate the comments of all these “free-thinking” people.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I received a request to review a website that sells adult products: sex toys, vibrators, adult DVDs, lingerie, etc. Products that can add a little zing to your life. (My words, not theirs). I didn’t respond at first for a similar reason as above…so they contacted me again, and I’m glad they did. While I was at first reluctant, I then thought “what’s the big deal?” I’m not a prude, I know what these things are, and I know that they are very popular with many married and single women.
The popularity of has brought what we used to refer to as kinky sex out of the closet and into everyday conversation. In fact, tv talk shows, daily newspapers, and business publications are even writing about sex, sex toys, bondage, and all kinds of other risque topics.
And since I know that quite a few of my followers are reading Fifty Shades of Grey, it occurred to me that they might very much appreciate my thoughts on Adam & Eve. It bills itself as “adult products for men, women, and couples”. I was pleased to see that the site is well-done, professional, not sleazy, and has a very matter-of-fact, user-friendly tone.
They even have a sense of humor: they offer a key chain vibrator! (I think that’s supposed to be funny, right?) There’s a section for women who want to recreate their favorite scenes from Fifty Shades… The pictures are great and the descriptions explain in plain English what each product is used for. They provide “discreet shipping” in unmarked packaging so you can have your purchase delivered to your job without embarrassment or if you just need to hide it from your kids or neighbors.
My visit to Adam & Eve, initially reticent, turned out to be quite fun. I haven’t bought anything…yet. But they’re having a summer sale right now, so you might want to check it out.
I’m dying to know what y’all think.
yes, I’m also glad you decided to review these sites. I think the internet now allows women to explore their sexuality in a way they couldn’t before. Also, a lot of “toys” these days are made by and for women bringing a whole new dimension to them. My website (www.suzyknew.com) has also discussed this issue.
Adam and Eve is good but a little to “old school” and from the male perspective. I think…
Any way… looking forward to the next time you review more fun products and sites! (wink wink)

I am actually an affiliate for Babeland and have their link on two of my blogs…not that I’ve made any money yet. But, I think there is a place to share good quality sites where women can explore and experiment. Too often women are afraid to question or explore their own sexuality…especially older women.
So, I’m very open to your writing about the site and sex toys. Go for it!
I think that it’s good to explore these things because if we don’t, we will continue to have pre-conceived notions. Also, I am glad that you’ve taken your readers into consideration before doing reviews for products, services, etc…again thank you . I agree with you that Adam & Eve is a very well put together site and I can speak on this personally. They are very professional and the products they sell, many are good and many are not. I realized that I had to keep in mind that they are the retailers, not the manufactures. I’ve been ordering from Adam & Eve since ’98 or ’99. It all started when I was in college and I was curious about sexual sensations. Because I was not sexually active, I wanted to know those pleasures before any Man would come into my life. Manual stimulation is fine but I wanted to try something different. I found Adam & Eve, liked their privacy policy and tried their products. Thirteen years later, I still order from them when I feel like it (although the last time I ordered from them was about five years ago). What I always found funny is that Adam & Eve is considered America’s #1 service for adult products but they are located in not in California, not in New York but NORTH CAROLINA LOL
