Well, maybe the title of this post exaggerates a bit. I don’t really travel like an animal (I hope) but I do have a few animal print travel bags that I like to hit the road with. My clothes, when I travel, are often muted in color and can tend toward the plain side because it makes it easier to mix-and-match and I don’t have to take so many. (“This blouse will work with this skirt and those pants.”) But I don’t want to look totally boring, so I like to carry a bag that *pops*. That’s where these animal print bags come in and that’s why they are part of my Fab Friday Favorites:
I love this leopard print garment bag by Gigi Hill. It looks and feels like leather, though I think it’s actually a combination of cotton canvas and micro suede, which makes it easy to clean. It’s lightweight, can hold a few days worth of outfits, and even has large zippered pockets for my shoes and accessories. Best of all, it’s a good-looking bag!
I bought this cowskin bag in Buenos Aires and just love its Wild, Wild West feel. It’s one-of-a-kind, and one of my favorites.
This elegant bag was a gift from a guy I was dating. He saw it in a thrift store, thought it was beautiful, and surprised me with it. It is actually a doctor’s bag from the 1920s and has remarkable workmanship. (I just want to point out that it was made 80 years ago or so, so please don’t report me to PETA if items made from alligators are now frowned upon. I think the statute-of-limitations exonerates me!)
